One Tree Woodwork

Orcas Island………

In 2008 the wife and I stayed on Orcas Island in the San Juan archipelago off the coast of washington st. It was gorgeous and laid back and while we were there we visited the Orcas Island Pottery shop and it was awesome.

Check out below  the classic Northwest native carving of a whale on the side of the building. The connection between the carvings and mythology are really inspiring.

Check out this treehouse on the same property.

Tohner, you have been putting out so much good stuff lately I haven’t had time to craft a worthy comment, although I may do some retro-jacking this weekend. Developments at work have me putting together not one but two small crews for the 2014 building season. Not what I had in mind for the year but it fits with my plans to buy a couple rural acres here on the Florida East Coast and now for some reason I am thinking about some kind of boondocks retreat in the hills above Monterey.

Meanwhile, I have taken the liberty of posting a link to my own tree house story. I hope you don’t mind…

Looking forward to a blog- jacking. I remember that tree house post it’s a really good one. It’s a strange feeling re visiting places you built in another life especially when it involves taking it down. Sometimes I think people forget how much emotion goes into building things by those that build it.
      Keep truckin-
      Until we blog again- tohner

For those of you who love seeing pictures of beautiful houses (house porn), possible diy tips, enjoy watching the building process, looking for design ideas and/or watching how a father and son build custom homes together. Please follow along @artisanbuilt The guys are laying these massive tiles out on the porch at the Smith project. I had my doubts early on but I think when finished it's going to look sharp. .

#artisanbuilders #customhomes#customtile#finehomebuilding The party is over. Back to school. Obligatory picture of the first day tells the story! God speed teachers. #brenhamelementaryschool New trucker! What do you think? TGIF friends! Dad and I surveying a future spot for another Artisan Builders project. Paging Dr. Pork Butts.
1) inject with apple juice and spices
2) cover with yellow mustard and coat with dry rub
3)place on the barbi over mesquite coals and hickory chunks
4) drink beer
5) smoke for 6 hrs doing your best to keep temp at 250 or below
6) drink beer
7) taking full advantage of modern appliances (slightly cheating) place pork butts into a pan covered with foil for a couple more hours to to create fall apart pork (hopefully)
8) just in case this doesn't work drink another beer. I don't always drink fine Japanese single malt whiskey. But when I do,it probably means a generous client bought it for me. Cheers my friends!🥃🥃
