Wall cabinet saga continues

Don’t ask where this is going because I’m not quite sure yet.

P.S
Mailing some onetree stickers off in the morning to New York City…….get a rope.

Here is a pic of where the tree landed in Pacific Grove, California. Right on, right on, right on

Also I picked up what I feel is a very interesting stick from the banks of the Llano river while I was researching some R and R. It’s a typical aromatic cedar branch worn from sun, sand and water but for some reason this specific piece with its sun bleached wood looked really good to me so I drug it back home. I had some huge pieces picked out that were really nice but since I was not in my truck it proved to be a non starter.

The stick of possibility or next years kindling only time will tell.

That cedar branch might make a good Christmas tree… Glad you’re spreading the one tree gospel far and wide. And I’m very intrigued by what’s happening in that first picture. Curiouser and curiouser.

Yea it would make a cool Charlie Brown christmas tree…. Yea the further I get with the cabinet the more unsure I am of the outcome which is ok by me I’m a better designer when I fly by the seat of my pants. It’s kind of dorky but I really do enjoy seeing the stickers go out and find new territory. You know those stickers are waterproof…I wonder how slick that baby seal skin is? Hmmmmmmm….excellent…

Is that a picture of Bob Dyaln and the Band?! Nice!

Yeah I’m also glad there are people like you spreading the good message. I am always looking for the wood that is just laying there on the ground. I have found some crazy driftwood in my time in the north western coastline of the USA.

I’d love a sticker. Hope there are some left.

Right on right on man. I’m spreading the word as far as I can get it, and would love to send you some stickers. Just drop your address on the “about page/free sticker page” and I will send a couple of them out. Then you can help spread the word.

My cabin cubicle in the woods. New office cubicle I made this weekend in what was a small walk in closet. I gutted the closet, took out some wall and raised the header. I scored some sweet 1x12 aromatic cedar from dad Friday so the idea was born and executed post haste.Sitting at my desk surrounded by the smell of cedar I feel at home. The map on the right is for plotting world domination.....or just day dreaming about future travel. #aromaticcedar#cabin#cabinoffice#officeinthewoods#interiordesign #woodworker#carpenter#homebuilder
Okra flower in morning sun. This time of the year in our part of Texas it’s hard to grow a garden in full sun. Okra loves the heat originating in southern Ethiopia it can handle the very hot Texas sun. Okra aids in digestion Okra is high in vitamin C that can boost immune system strength Okra can help strengthen vision and protect against cataracts Okra improves skin health and can be applied directly after boiling and mashing Okra is a great source of fiber #okra#okraflower#victorygarden#growyourown#foodismedicine #foodislife #getoutside#lifeisagardendigit
Oh Snap in a matter of a day Artisan Builders went coast to coast. It’s like a tidal wave of swag. I don’t think I’ve heard of a feat like this since the Wright brothers took their famous flight in 1903....sorry I got a little carried away. Cheers IG and TGIF my many, many IG friends. #Repost @the_drawer_dude with @get_repost ・・・ #MAILCALL. Received a really nice surprise from one of my oldest IG friends Tohner @tohnerjackson. What a cool hat from an even cooler craftsman and family man. He and his father build AMAZING homes in Texas. Check out @artisanbuilt to see for yourself. Thank you my friend, I will wear it with pride. I hope our paths cross one day and I can buy you a beer or two. Cheers my brother. 🍻
Artisan Builders spotted in the Northwest who knows where it will go from here?....... #Repost @deancreates1 with @get_repost ・・・ I hate selfies, but when a fellow melon head sends me a badass lid from Texas, I’ll give it my best shot- wanky eyes and grizzled scruff and all. I have IG friends and then I have “really” good IG friends like @tohnerjackson who builds magnificent homes in Texas and quotes Thoreau and carves unicorns for his daughter in his spare time. Check your mail, Monday, my friend 👍❤️ #igfriends #artisanbuilders #texasfriends #hatsofinstagram #melonheads
Rowan found a Passion flower down by the creek this evening. He was proud and I was impressed. It was Henry David Thoreau that said “ It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see. “ I agree. #dadlife#passionflower#rowan#learning#henrydavidthoreau #getoutside

@artisanbuilt Build with intention. Always. “With a father who is a fabulous craftsman, I was raised with the fundamental belief that it is only when you personally work with a material with your hands, that you come to understand its true nature, its characteristics, its attributes, and I think - very importantly - its potential. “Jonathan Ive #artisanbuilt#artisanbuilders#customhomes#builditandtheywillcome #homeiswheretheheartis #stone#aromaticcedar#customhomebuilder#secondgeneration#
I spent some of my July 4 finishing up a little project for Molly. In a couple of days she will be turning 8 and let’s just say she is into unicorns at the moment. She still believes in myth and magic just like her old man. Just don’t let the sweet loving free spirited nature fool you.... mess with her family and she will pull your cord...just like her old man. I haven’t grinder carved in a while but really enjoyed revisiting an old love of mine. No drawing or model to follow just grind away what doesn’t look like a unicorn. The head is western cedar, the horn is a spalted live oak limb and the eyes some glitter magic. Gray washed with stain and torched for contrast. This will hang somewhere on her wall maybe by her closet as if it’s moving through the wall. I hope she likes it. I hope it makes her smile. I hope when she leaves the unicorn phase she lets me strap it to to bow of my canoe. The first picture and video shows off the carving fairly well. The second video........let’s just say was just for fun don’t be so serious. The unicorn is a legendary creature that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a single large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. The unicorn was depicted in ancient seals of the Indus Valley Civilization and was mentioned by the ancient Greeks in accounts of natural history by various writers, including Ctesias, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, and Aelian. The Bible also describes an animal, the re'em, which some versions translate as unicorn. #unicorn#unicorncarving#woodcarver#woodart#onetreewoodwork#molly#imbackbaby#godfather#dontevergoagainstthefamily #magic#family#dadlife
